Why Rewind Twitch Live Stream?
There are many reasons why a viewer would want to rewind a live stream in Twitch. Some of the basic reasons could be:
- You missed a little portion of the live stream you were watching because of an internet connectivity issue, or you simply had to go somewhere or do some work for a short period of time.
- Maybe you are with your friends, and you want to show them a certain part of the live streaming, or you want to watch it for yourself.
- You were out for the day, or you were at your job, and that every day your favorite streamer live-streamed a video that you wanted to watch.
- The live video you were watching showed something important, and you want to save that portion of the video on your hard drive.
- Maybe you felt nostalgic about a video that you watched earlier in Twitch and wanted to watch it again to relieve your nostalgia.
Is it Possible to Rewind Twitch?
It is not entirely impossible to rewind twitch videos, but on the official Twitch website, viewers are unable to rewind as there is no option for it. But with a little bit of knowledge, you can easily rewind or rewatch the live videos. There are some processes with a few easy steps, and if you follow them correctly, you will be able to get your desired result. The processes are given below:
Rewind Most Recent Part of a Video:
This is the most commonly used process to rewind a running live stream for any Twitch viewer. In this process, the viewer is able to remind what they watched just a little bit ago. It is done by creating a clip of that short moment of the live video.
Step-1: First, go to the Twitch website and log in to your account. If you do not have an account, you can always make a free Twitch account or just continue without an account. There are other benefits that you can get but log in with an account, such as commenting in the live streams, making donations, and requesting the streamers to do something for you in the live video.
Step-2: Click on the video that you want to watch. After clicking the video, it will load, and you will be able to see a “movie” icon which is situated in the lower right of the live stream.
Step-3: Now, you will have to click on the “movie” icon, and after doing that, you will be taken to another page in your browser. On that page, you will be able to see the previous footage of the video from the moment you clicked on the movie icon.
Step-4: Here, you can browse the footage, which will be 1 minute and 25 seconds prior to the live-streamed video. The last second of this footage will be the second when you clicked on the icon while watching the video.
Step-5: From that 1minute 25-second footage, you can select any 1-minute portion and save it. You can watch the saved video whenever you want, as it will stay permanently on your hard drive.
This process is a bit complicated, and the viewer is able to technically “rewind” the video
for a very short period of time. But this is certainly the easiest process, and it’s used by almost every other viewer in the Twitch community. And the plus point is that you can do this while you are still watching the live stream as the video will continue to stream on the previous page in your browser.
Start from The Beginning of a Twitch Stream
You can follow this process if you had missed the starting of a live stream and you want to watch it from the beginning.
Step-1: For this step, you will need to use the VOD (Video on Demand) feature of Twitch. First, you need to go to the video tabs where all the current live streams will be showed. You can access it by clicking on the “Videos” tab, which is situated at the top of the screen.
Step-2: The videos tab will take you to the page where you will find all the VODs and clips that are held by the streamers.
Step-3: The ongoing streams are generally found as VOD, and by clicking on them, you can browse through the video and rewatch the part you missed. Remember that the video is already being streamed live, and if you comment on any previous part of the video, it may seem out of context to the other viewers.
Using a Screen Recorder
In this process, you can screen record a whole video and save it to watch for later. In this process, video recording software and hard drive space are needed.
Step-1: Install a Screen Recorder on your PC and start to record the screen after you click on the live video that you want to watch later.
Step-2: After the streaming is done, turn off the screen recorder and save the video clip on your hard drive. Now you can access the whole live stream whenever you want and watch it.
As you can see it is not entirely impossible to rewind twitch live streams but the processes require some work to be done. Once you get accustomed to the step, it will become very easy to follow them.
