Private chats

Twitch allows users to chat and send private messages to their Twitch friends within the chat window without displaying it to everyone else. Each message or whisper shows up in a public chat box, but only the intended person will be able to view it. Twitch allows you to send whispers to as many people as you like, but not more than two people can be included in each conversation at a time.

Chat by using username 

To chat with friends, simply type “/w” followed by the username of the person you want to send to and type in your message. There is an autocomplete suggestion provided by Twitch based on the last five people that you’ve chatted with, but there is always an option to manually type in the person’s username to whom you want to send a whisper. 

Chat no matter what channel you’re on
